Just heard last night about the tragic loss of one of my favorite salseras in the NY dance scene.
As some of you may already know, participation in NY’s dance community exposes you to an incredibly diverse group of characters and personalities. You will find individuals who can and will, surprisingly impact your life in simple or profound ways, and in a positive or negative manner.
You will undoubtedly come across those who increase the drama in your life, but you will also luckily find those special gems in the scene who are akin to a breath of fresh air. Individuals like Moira, who make everyone else smile whenever you are around them, due to the quality of their character, and after witnessing the purity of their artistry.
Whether on the dance floor, or backstage waiting to perform, you were always such a sweetie that exuded an undeniably positive energy, and your love and passion for the dance was completely infectious.
I guess I just want to say thanks for always being such an electric spirit, and for inspiring those around you by leaving your heart out on that stage. May you RIP, and my most heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the Villar family.
*Also, for those who will be around the NYC area on July 23rd, please come out and show support at the Dance Fundraiser for the Villar Family (100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Villar Family).

**And if you’re unable to make the event, but would still like to help out, here’s a gofundme page that was started in her honor and be given to the Villar Family: http://www.gofundme.com/zdrg2ak
