Where to Dance Salsa and Bachata in Los Angeles (CA)

For anyone wanting to go out dancing while visiting LA, here’s a quick little reference chart that I put together that includes a list of my favorite weekly events.  I’ve included the schedules for the ‘Big 3’ (GranadaLA, PCH Club & Steven’s Steakhouse) as these are probably the most well known, and promoted venues.  I will admit that I’m much more familiar with the NY scene, and I’m sure there are gems in LA that I’m completely unaware of, but these are the spots I find myself consistently going back to whenever I visit my family back in Cali.

From my experience, all 3 clubs have pretty solid DJ’s, provide great classes prior to opening up the dance floor, and are usually pretty packed with people wanting to get out on the dance floor.  Another thing I really like about the dance scene in LA is that the cover is usually pretty cheap (ranging from $5 to $10), and drinks tend to be pretty affordable compared to the clubs in NY.  So all in all, a great night of dancing can be had without hitting the pockets too deep! 🙂

Btw, if there’s been any recent schedule changes that you’re aware of, please let me know and I’ll make the necessary changes to the chart.

  1. If you want to drive a tiny bit farther sputh, Tapas in Irvine is fun! They have salsa/bachata nights on Fridays and Saturdays, usually with a live band on Saturdays. There is a group class at 9pm before the general dancing starts. Cover depends on if there is a band or not, but is never more than $10.
